Maud

This steam trawler of Fleetwood was being towed by the London tug "Challenge" after running ashore on the Isle of Man. She was on her way to Hull and when off The Lizard encountered a southerly gale and heavy seas and the tow rope parted on 11th February 1895. The crew of 9 were obliged to abandon the vessel and were rescued by Challenge
